In this article, we wanted to look at the Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express. This is the third most expensive of Amex's four credit cards, and it has some great perks. For example, every Delta Reserve cardholder will receive a free Dining Plans gift card when they become a member of Delta. We also found out that Delta has partnered with several major hotels around the world, which makes it even easier to find a hotel room with the Delta Reserve card.
Here's the deal: The Delta Reserve card offers one free mile per dollar of spend. That means if you fly $600 or more in a year, you'll receive a free mile. The other great perk of Delta Reserve is that it has no annual fee. With other cards of this type, you might have to pay annual fees and a lot of annual maintenance fees. With these cards, you never have to pay a cent more than the regular annual percentage rate. It can't get much better than that.
So what are the other perks on the Delta Reserve card? The welcome bonus is one of my favorites. If you use your card every month, you'll automatically be sent a 10% rebate on your purchases for the next five years! That's a pretty big discount, especially for something as useful as credit card.
Another great perk is the special credit card annual fee waived. For the first year (people who transfer their balances from other cards before the introductory period runs out) of the Delta Reserve card, you only need to pay a one-time flat rate fee. You'll never have to pay an annual fee again. While this might not seem like a big deal in a vacuum, the real world is full of unexpected fees, especially when you don't know any better.
For instance, most companies charge a hefty annual fee that adds up to a significant amount of cash, but the Delta Reserve card comes with a companion certificate, which gives you a big discount on your travel expenses. This discount is only good, however, if you use the card consistently. If you fly once or twice a year, you can expect to pay a bit more for your travels, but the Delta Reserve companion certificate is well worth it. And as soon as you get your refund check, Delta will give you another one-way flight back to your original point of origin, for free!
Finally, there's the Delta Reserve platinum credit card, which gives you the freedom to use the co-branding of your Delta flights and even earn a free flight if you meet their minimum spending requirements. If you already own the plane, you can use the Delta Reserve platinum card for an additional flight without having to pay an annual fee, as long as you use the card for at least eight flights each year. You can use the Delta Reserve card for any kind of airline-related expenses, including flights between Delta's plants in Atlanta and London, the London Heathrow airport and any other destination. If you have the co-branding rights to the plane you've bought, you can use the Delta Reserve platinum card for a flight starting from that point, too.
