You are logged into the Amex sign in page, and you have selected a PIN number. If you do not know your user ID or password, you will be unable to proceed to checkout. Amex has provided a secure login system that includes a “2-digit code” rather than a typical numeric pin number. That means if you do not have a user ID or password, even when you enter the correct security code, you will be unable to proceed. There is good news, however!
You can bypass this authentication issue by knowing your user ID and password. If you know the proper username and password, you can go straight to the relevant information on the Amex sign up page and skip the login page all together. The “related products” and services” links are available at the bottom of the page, next to the “home” link. Click on these links, and you will be directed to a page with a logo, and links to all of the various products and services that are available from this merchant.
Instead of being required to create a user ID and password to log into the Amex sign up page, you can go directly to the relevant information. When you click on the “related products” link, you will be directed to a page where you can browse all of the products that are available from this merchant. To go back to the login page, all you need do is click on the “logged in” link at the bottom of the page. If you choose to sign in using a traditional email address, and not a user, the Amex sign up process will still work.
A message may pop up asking you to authenticate yourself, and if you have not set up an authentic email address or a user id, you will be unable to proceed. Simply follow the link to sign in to your account. Once done, you should see a screen prompting you to log in using your traditional email address or a user. You will need to enter the relevant information for your account such as your username and password in order to proceed.
If you do not have a user id or password, you will be prompted to enter them by clicking on the “Submit” or “Sign In” link. The sign in the process is simple enough to follow, and it is definitely worth the few minutes it takes to get everything set up. You will see a page prompting you to either enter your current account password or select a new one. As you make your selection, you will be asked to enter the number that you wish to pay with. Once you enter a number, a series of product options will be displayed.
If you would like to sign up for an additional product or two, then all you need to do is click the “Sign In” or “Sign Out” link next to the option cards. The sign in the process has now been streamlined to speed up your sign up and selection experience even further. The new interface does require that you enter your account password once more though.
