The Delta SkyMiles Gold American Express card is the least expensive option amongst their co-brand Delta cards. American Express also provides the Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express card, which has a couple of increased benefits and much higher yearly fees. The Delta Skylines Club (also offered by American Express) is a great perk, but this one is a trade-off, in my opinion.
The Delta Elite Card is the main card approved by Delta. It earns you elite mileage points for every dollar you spend on tickets, meals, and so on. The elite mile structure is earned depending on how many different types of Delta purchases you make. The more you use Delta, the more elite your miles will be. This is a great perk if you fly quite a bit on Delta, but you can expect to pay quite a bit of extra for it.
The Delta Reserve card is also from American Express and earns you elite miles at a fixed rate for the lifetime of your membership. It also comes with an annual fee of $125. You can only book one flight per year with the Delta Reserve card, whereas the elite miles can be used for all Delta flights. The Delta Reserve card offers the same benefits as the Delta SkyMiles Gold and Diamond cards, such as business class upgrades at a participating airport, priority boarding privileges, first chance at a free or discounted ticket, and so on. The only drawback of the Delta Reserve card is that it does not earn you any elite miles.
Another card from American Express is the Gold Delta Skylines Card from American Express, which allows you to earn up to five percent (5%) on every Delta sale made for the life of your membership. You can also get access to an extensive library of information about Delta, including a guide to Delta Airline lounges, a directory of premium hotels and resorts, dining options, and much more. With this card, you can enjoy additional benefits like no annual fee, priority boarding at lounges, priority seating, a baggage scanner, and so on. On top of these benefits, the Gold Delta Cards from American Express will give you access to a savings account that allows you to earn additional cash back.
The Delta Reserve, American Express Delta Skyliner, and Platinum cards are all designed for frequent travelers and business people who can count on their cards to help them during the toughest times of the year. If you belong to a business class, you know how difficult it can be to get tickets sold in a hurry or to find a hotel room when business travel is inevitable. These credit cards help you enjoy perks, rewards, and opportunities that allow you to earn two miles for every dollar spent, no annual fee, no foreign transaction fees, and more. These cards are also available to members of United Airlines, Continental Airlines, United Express, and US Airways.
The Delta Reserve card offers an excellent reward program and an extended period of coverage, making it the perfect card for frequent fliers. You may also choose to upgrade to the Platinum business card for even greater benefits. For business travelers, the Delta Reserve allows you to benefit from a no annual fee low-fee statement credit and five,000 mile (upon renewal) bonus miles. Other benefits include a business friendly travel partner and an itinerary that include major cities such as Boston, Toronto, and Miami. As you can see, the Delta Reserve offers an excellent opportunity for frequent business travellers and leisure travellers.
